The Luxury Of RV Camping Gear

Even people who share a love of the outdoors can have different ways of enjoying it. For instance, while some people prefer to camp out under the stars or only with a tent in between them and the night air and enjoy cooking over an open fire, others choose to bring a few modern comforts along with them, packing an RV that provides them a mobile home away from home.

However, with a different mode of camping comes different camping equipment. Because you have a vehicle and not a backpack carrying what you need, RV camping gear can contain bigger items and heavier items. Here are a few that might be welcome on your RV trip:

Extra Rooms

One example of RV camping gear that can come in handy is a portable room, adding a large amount of additional space to your living area while you're camping. This piece of RV camping gear usually attaches where an awning can be hung after parking your RV, and is basically little more than a tent, appropriate for keeping out bugs and sheltering you and your family from rain and sun alike. This particular piece of RV camping gear is particularly great if you're traveling with your family and need a little extra room for the kids at night, rather than all piling into the RV.

Power

One of the reasons why RV camping appeals to some is that an RV can provide power to run small appliances, such as a small television at night, or a coffee maker in the morning. And while many RV parks will offer you a place for your camper to plug into for power, sometimes you won't have that access. In cases like that, some sort of portable power is a good piece of RV camping gear to bring along. A power generator that runs off gasoline will keep your electrical appliances running when you need them, even if you can't plug your RV in, making it a useful piece of RV camping gear.

Air Conditioning

Since part of the reason some people have an RV to go camping with is to enjoy a few comforts of home while on the road, one great piece of RV camping gear is an air conditioner. RV air conditioners tend to be small and mount somewhere on the roof of the RV. While this piece of RV camping gear may seem like a luxury, it can make the difference between a night that's spent tossing and turning in the heat and one that's spent resting easy in cool air. Just as with the other pieces of RV camping gear, this takes advantage of the size of the RV to bring along something that you normally couldn't when camping.
